Organising your own concert: things to consider
The Bliss Events Team are on hand to help but below is a step-by-step guide to organising your concert.
Signing people up
If you are already in a choir this might be the perfect Christmas fundraiser for you. If you’re not, you can still hold this event. Consider reaching out to local schools or music groups.
Find your location
Choosing the right location is important when holding an event. A few things to consider when choosing your venue are:
- Ensure it is fairly easy to find and travel to.
- Pick somewhere atmospheric.
- Consider if they have all the equipment you might need there.
Advertising
- Ask the venue if they will help advertise.
- Create a poster to display in public places such as libraries, churches, local shops.
- Ask your local paper to feature the concert on their listings page.
- Use social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) to promote the concert.
Fundraise
- Charge a small entrance fee.
- Hold a collection during or after the service.
- If you are serving refreshments, place a collection tin on the table for spare change.

Schools often hold an end of term performance and if that is the case, why not put Bliss forward to be the charity supported at this year’s event.
