Bliss’ mission is to give every baby born premature or sick the best chance of survival and quality of life. To achieve this we need to understand how our work improves outcomes for babies born sick or premature. We do this through our Impact Framework.
The Bliss Impact Framework
Evidence clearly shows that babies have better outcomes when parents/carers are close partners in their care.
We work towards parent partnership in care by supporting parents and carers, working closely with neonatal healthcare professionals, influencing policy, and guiding neonatal research.
Our impact framework provides a step-by-step outline of how the work we do results in changes that improve outcomes for babies. These include:
Increased attachment with parents and carers
Babies experiencing less pain
Better short-term health outcomes, such as improved weight gain, shorter hospital stays and reduced readmissions
Better long-term health outcomes, such as improved neurodevelopment and reduced ongoing medical needs
