Before designing the new range, the card company held a discussion with parents who had experiences of neonatal care in order to help them get the messaging on the card right. This discussion was featured on Good Morning Britain on 19 July 2018.

20p from the sale of each card in the new range will go directly to Bliss. We will use the money raised from this partnership to help us deliver mental health information packages to neonatal units across the country. We hope that the information inside each package will help parents on the neonatal unit have a better understanding of the importance of taking care of their own mental health.

Bliss’ recent research has found that 80 per cent of parents say that their mental health got worse after their neonatal experience. Although a card alone can’t change someone’s mental health, it can show those you love who are in neonatal care that you are there for them.

Caroline Lee-Davey, Chief Executive of Bliss said: “We are absolutely delighted that Hallmark has developed these beautiful cards especially for parents of premature and sick babies. Having a baby on the neonatal unit is an incredibly stressful experience for parents, and friends and family are often unsure about how to offer support or even what to say at this time. These tailor-made cards are perfect for many of those situations, and will help parents to feel they are not alone. Bliss is truly grateful to have Hallmark as a partner and the support of Good Morning Britain in providing this new way to reach out and support parents of premature and sick babies when they need it most.”

Hallmark’s new card range is available from Amazon, selected Tesco, Morrison’s and specialist card and gift shops. To find out more about the collection visit www.hallmark.co.uk/blisscards
