Bliss congratulates long-standing Bliss Ambassador Lady Sarra Hoy and her husband Sir Chris Hoy on being awarded the Freedom of the City of London for their services to charity and sport. The pair received the honour at a ceremony at Mansion House in London last night (26 June).
Lady Sarra Hoy’s award was for her philanthropic and charity work, notably for premature and sick babies in neonatal care and their families. Sir Chris Hoy’s award was for his significant contribution to sport and specifically the success of the London 2012 Games, as well as his advocacy for cancer testing and awareness.
Bliss’ Chief Executive, Caroline Lee-Davey, was delighted to attend the event, and commented: “This award is a well-deserved recognition of the tireless work Sarra has done to shine a light on the experiences of families who have a baby in neonatal care.
“Through her personal experience Sarra knows all too well the challenges of having a baby admitted to neonatal care, and she has done a huge amount to ensure that parents know that they’re not alone and can access support from Bliss.
“We are so proud to have Sarra as part of the Bliss family, and it was an enormous privilege to attend this event to celebrate with her.”
