The Patient Information Forum promotes access to trusted health information for patients, carers, the public and healthcare professionals.

PIF represents more than 300 organisations across the NHS, voluntary, academic, freelance and commercial sectors. Their expert guidance on the production of high-quality health information supports an improved healthcare experience for patients and the public.

They help members provide high-quality, clearly communicated, evidence-based healthcare information. The aim is to empower people to make informed decisions about their health and improve outcomes.

PIF have played an essential role in the development of policy and expertise on user involvement, health literacy, shared decision-making, patient experience and reducing health inequalities.

Vision

PIF's vision is that everyone has access to personalised health information and support to enable them to make informed decisions about their health, wellbeing and care.
