Childbase Partnership’s staff and families across 44 day nurseries have raised a staggering £181,761 for Bliss, the UK’s leading charity for babies born premature or sick.

This huge donation was a result of a wide range of creative fundraising initiatives including climbing challenges, sponsored walks, and endless bake sales in all nurseries.

2,000 employees at Childbase chose to adopt the charity for a year-long fundraising and awareness drive.

Owain Rees, Partnerships Manager at Bliss, said: “It is impossible to overstate what Childbase Partnership has achieved and the difference this money will make to the one in every seven babies admitted to neonatal units in the UK each year.

By matching fundraising efforts with an awareness drive, Childbase has raised the profile of Bliss and the work we do.”

This donation will contribute towards getting parents of babies born premature and sick the extra support they need by ensuring that Bliss Champions, who provide essential support to parents, can go back on the units.

The Covid-19 pandemic meant that Bliss Champions have had to provide support remotely while units implemented visiting restrictions.

Childbase Partnership Chairman and Founder Mike Thompson described the fundraising effort as phenomenal and a proud moment for the company before thanking colleagues and nursery parents for their commitment and generosity.
