Whittington Hospital
Whittington Hospital Neonatal Unit in London achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in July 2024. The unit has a really cohesive and passionate team, receptive and open to change and suggestions. Parents are actively encouraged and supported to be part of their baby’s care, which is individualised to meet the specific needs of each family. There is excellent provision of psychosocial support, with a psychologist embedded on the unit and weekly psychosocial meetings for the whole MDT to come together and talk about and identify families who may benefit from support, so that their needs can be met in a timely manner.

Broomfield Hospital
Broomfield Hospital Neonatal Unit in the East of England ODN achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in October 2024. The team at Broomfield is clearly passionate about FICare and the experience of the families whilst they are on the Unit. The Unit is led by a strong, well respected and extremely dedicated Ward Manager who has pushed the unit hard to ensure great team cohesion and family integration. Feedback from parents on the day was extremely positive, in particular with regards to involvement and the support they received from staff. The whole team felt like a family that parents and carers were very much part of.

Ipswich Hospital
Ipswich Hospital Neonatal Unit in the East of England ODN achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in October 2024. The multidisciplinary team at Ipswich Hospital passionately strive to promote a warm, welcoming, supportive and informative environment for families; with a strong ethos of individually tailoring how they work in partnership with parents, in accordance with their needs and wishes. The unit also strives to ensure parents' voices are heard and help drive service improvement. Feedback from parents on the day was extremely positive, particularly with regards to the care and support they received, and the way in which staff genuinely promoted an ethos of partnerships with parents, encouraging their involvement in decision-making as well as supporting their involvement in hands on care.

Northampton Hospital
Northampton Hospital Neonatal Unit in the East Midlands ODN achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in March 2025. The unit at Northampton has some very passionate and knowledgeable team members who are helping to deliver FICare for the unit's Families ensuring that they are welcomed and made to feel like parents to their children. Families described the unit as having good parent led care where they were involved in decision making and felt that the staff knew their babies.

Forth Valley Hospital
Forth Valley Hospital in Scotland achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in July 2025. The team at Forth Valley is clearly passionate about FICare and the experience of the families whilst they are on the unit. Antrim Area Hospital
Antrim Area Hospital in Northern Ireland achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in September 2025. The assessment team observed that the Antrim Unit demonstrated exceptional cohesion across all disciplines. The nursing, domestic, medical, Allied Health Professional and Psychological staff worked seamlessly together, fostering a strong sense of unity and collaboration. Notably, the team embraced a holistic approach to care, placing significant emphasis on the role of parents as active partners. Families were not only welcomed but fully integrated into the care environment, contributing to a warm, inclusive atmosphere that extended beyond clinical interactions. Antrim Area Hospital is our first unit in Northern Ireland to be awarded with Gold.

Royal Surrey County Hospital
Royal Surrey County Hospital in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex ODN achieved its Platinum Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in January 2026. The assessment team observed that the unit at Royal Surrey is an impressive and highly welcoming environment for families, where parent experience is clearly central to its approach. The unit demonstrated excellent team cohesion and appeared to be well supported by senior clinical leadership within the hospital. The team also has a strong and effective relationship with the MNVP, which enables close collaboration with families to deliver the best possible Family Integrated Care (FICare).

The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)
The Princess Royal (Telford) Hospital in the West Midlands ODN achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in February 2026.The assessment team observed that The Princess Royal (Telford) Unit demonstrated a high level of cohesion across all professional disciplines. The unit benefits from a dedicated Allied Health Professional and Psychological (AHP&P) team that is fully integrated within the multidisciplinary team (MDT). Effective communication, including regular MDT huddles, supports shared understanding and coordinated care. The nursing and AHP&P teams demonstrated a strong awareness of the needs of families, recognising the value of parental knowledge and the importance of supporting emotional wellbeing as part of holistic care delivery.

University Hospital Wishaw
University Hospital Wishaw in Scotland achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in March 2026. The assessment team observed that Wishaw has a very strong team, that has maintained a high standard of care while navigating a difficult 12 months. They are clearly passionate about FICare and the experience of families whilst they are on the unit and beyond, with accessible peer support, psychological support and outpatient rooms on the ward. The assessment team observed this through the tour, interviews with healthcare professionals and the strong parent feedback. The ethos of families staying in touch with the unit was demonstrated through their strong social media presence and the board in transitional care where families could share their stories with other families. This support is reciprocal; one family funded a room, used for palliative care or rooming in, in memory of their child who sadly passed away on the unit.

Watford Hospital
Watford Hospital in the East of England ODN achieved its Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in April 2026. The assessment team visited a unit with a warm culture where parents were treated as active participants in their baby’s care. Staff have made great efforts to individualise care for families, tailoring support offered rather than making assumptions about families’ needs. The close-knit team across all disciplines shared a clear sense that family-integrated care belongs to everyone, and this came through not only in interviews but in what the team observed on the ward. Parent feedback was overwhelmingly positive throughout.

Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow
The Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow in Scotland achieved its Platinum Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in June 2026. The assessment team found the unit to be highly family-friendly, delivering a positive neonatal experience for all families. The team consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to family integrated care, ensuring that parents and families remain integral to their baby’s care journey, and this was demonstrated by all staff including medical, nursing and non-clinical staff. Feedback from families was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the high standard of care and that staff ‘genuinely cared about us and our family’ during their time on the unit.

St Peter's Hospital
St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex ODN achieved its Platinum Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in June 2026. The assessment team observed that the unit at St Peter's is a welcoming and impressive environment for families, where family-integrated care is not simply a policy, but a reality embedded across every aspect of the team's culture. The unit demonstrated remarkable compassion and cohesion, with FICare clearly a genuine priority for all staff members. The team has a strong and effective relationship with the MNVP, and the quality of individualised care (particularly around bereavement, developmental care, accessibility and inclusion) made this a standout assessment visit.

Worcestershire Royal Hospital
Worcestershire Royal Hospital in the West Midlands ODN achieved its Gold Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation in July 2026. The assessment team observed that the Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital demonstrated strong teamwork, with staff at all levels actively engaged in, and knowledgeable about, Family Integrated Care (FICare) and the wider family support services available on the Unit. There was clear evidence of a shared commitment to placing families at the centre of care, with staff consistently recognising the importance of involving parents and carers as partners in their baby’s care and celebrating these steps with them. This family integrated approach was reflected in the Unit’s ongoing dedication to improving services, embedding good practice, and implementing initiatives that enhance the experience and support available to families. The assessment team noted that this commitment was evident across the multidisciplinary team and contributed to a positive, inclusive culture within the Unit. The team was particularly impressed by the level of psychological and trauma informed awareness demonstrated not only by the Psychologist, but by staff across the wider multidisciplinary team, reflecting a shared understanding of the emotional impact of neonatal care on families.
