Fundraise for World Prematurity Day

Make a difference on World Prematurity Day 2020 and fundraise for Bliss to give every baby born premature in the UK the best chance of survival and quality of life.

Taking place on 17 November, World Prematurity Day is a global movement to raise awareness of premature birth.

Take part and organise an event on a neonatal unit, or fundraise as an individual or in your community. Find out below how you can get involved.

What can I do?

Light up the night with Bliss Little Lights

Take part in a magical lantern-lit walk. Host your own sponsored walk on Saturday 14 November according to local Government guidelines, so that we can safely light up the night across the UK for babies born premature or sick together.

Visit our Little Lights page to find out more and sign up.

Host a Bliss PrematuriTEA party

Whether you are fundraising virtually, on a neonatal unit or at home, put the kettle on, Bake for Bliss and serve up a celebration tea party with a difference.

Host a Wear Purple Day

Wear Purple Day

You could also host a Wear Purple Day for World Prematurity Day and ask everyone to donate £1 to wear something purple on your neonatal unit, workplace or school. If everyone in your office is working from home, why not have a lunchtime meet up on video conference with everyone wearing their purple, and ask everyone to donate to a JustGiving page?

Or if you want to do something different and do your own thing that's great, let us know what you have planned.

Take your fundraising to new heights by entering the Bliss Balloon Race

Enter our first ever virtual balloon race launching on World Prematurity Day, with a chance to win some fantastic prizes and help support babies in neonatal care. You can enter as many balloons as you wish to, at a cost of £3.50 each.

You can choose how much air, what shape and how thick you want your balloons to be. You can even add your own message each of your balloons to really make them stand out or to honour babies you might be celebrating or remembering this World Prematurity Day.

Get your family or work colleagues involved by everyone buying their own balloons and seeing whose balloon goes the furthest by 24 November.

We chose to join in with Little Lights and raise funds for this great charity and make WPD extra special. It was lovely to see so many recent and older babies. We raised £355.00 for Bliss.
