Fundraise for World Prematurity Day

Make a difference this World Prematurity Day by fundraising for Bliss.

You will be helping to give every baby born premature in the UK the best chance of survival and quality of life.

Taking place on 17 November, World Prematurity Day is a global movement to raise awareness of premature birth.

To take part, organise a World Prematurity Day fundraising event. You could fundraise as an individual, with a community group or even on a neonatal unit (if restrictions allow).

What can I do?

Light up the night with Bliss Little Lights

Take part in a magical lantern-lit walk. You can host your Little Lights walk anytime that suits you. Many people choose to focus their walk in November, around the 17th for World Prematurity Day. But you can choose a date that means the most to you. Holding a Little Lights walk is a perfect opportunity to get together with family, friends or colleagues and light up the night for babies born premature or sick.

Visit our Little Lights page to find out more information and register your interest in the event.

Host a Bliss PrematuriTEA party

Whether you are fundraising with friends, on a neonatal unit or at home, put the kettle on, Bake for Bliss and serve up a celebration tea party with a difference.

Host a Wear Purple Day

You could also host a Wear Purple Day for World Prematurity Day and ask everyone to donate £1 to wear something purple on your neonatal unit, workplace or school. Even with hybrid working being common, why not have a lunchtime video call with everyone wearing purple, and ask everyone to donate to a JustGiving page?

If you want to do something different and do your own thing that's great, let us know what you have planned.
