Bliss was lucky enough to work with Mothercare as their Charity of the Year for over three years.

Mothercare raised over £160,000 during the partnership. Mothercare’s own colleagues nominated and voted for Bliss, moved by Bliss’ promise to champion the right for every baby born premature or sick to receive the best care.

Bliss already had a long standing relationship with Mothercare, by jointly working together with neonatal nurses and new parents to develop their premature baby clothing range (from 2lb). The company also offered free home delivery on their premature clothing range for parents caught off-guard by the sudden arrival of their little one.

The partnership saw Mothercare donating funds to Bliss from the proceeds of sales in its staff shop along with other employee led fundraising activities such as a golf day and bake sales.

Caroline Lee-Davey, Chief Executive Bliss said: “We are delighted to have worked closely with Mothercare on this new range designed specifically for the needs of premature babies. This new range not only comes in sizes suitable for the smallest babies, it has also been designed with fabrics and fastenings to support ease of use with any tubes or wires that babies may need in hospital. We thank Mothercare for all of their support over the last few years which has made a massive difference to supporting the families of babies born premature or sick”.

Mark Newton Jones, Mothercare Chief Executive commented, ‘We are delighted to have partnered with Bliss, a charity that plays such an important role in the lives of parents and babies, providing invaluable support to families at such an important time.”
