Schools, Colleges and Nurseries

There are lots of ways your nursery, school, college or university can help raise money for Bliss, for example non-uniform days, talent shows and nominating Bliss as charity of the year. Whatever you decide to do, our events team will be there to support you every step of the way.

Pick a Location and Date

The return to school after the summer holidays is a great time to ask your children's school to help you fundraise for Bliss. Suggest dates that might work well, perhaps world prematurity day (17 November), or the festive season.

You could organise your organise your event in your school gymnasium, local park, leisure centre or community hall. Wherever you decide, make sure you have all the permissions you need before promoting your event.

Get people involved

Think of ways you can get lots of different people connected with the school involved. You could:

• Try to gather parents, grandparents, students, teachers as well as the local community together.
• Encourage the school council, PTA and governors to come up with fundraising ideas or help your ideas.
• Approach local businesses and ask them if they are willing to donate any prizes, sponsor or promote your event. Ask us if you would like a letter of verification.

Keeping your event safe & legal

• Ensure children are not approaching strangers for sponsorship.
• Food hygiene - work to the standard rules (you can find advice on Food Standards Agency website).

• Ensure you are following COVID-19 government guidelines.
