For every seven babies born in the UK, one baby is admitted to neonatal care shortly after birth. For their parents the experience can be traumatic and life changing.
The lack of extra leave for parents with a baby in neonatal care means that many parents return to work while their baby is still in hospital or before they're ready to. Others get into debt to take time off work without pay.
The government has committed to introducing additional leave but have not yet delivered on this promise.
Now is the time to act.
