Support via video call

Father looking longingly at his child through an incubator

When you need someone to talk to, we're here. Our Bliss Champion volunteers are available for a one-to-one conversation via video call.

What happens during the video call?

The video call will be a one-to-one conversation with a Bliss volunteer.

During one of our pre-arranged, 30 minute conversations you will speak to a volunteer who is trained to understand neonatal care and experienced in supporting families.

The call is an opportunity for you to ask questions, share your experience or just to talk to someone who understands some of what you might be going through.

Who is it for?

The service is for anyone with a baby either on the unit or who has been discharged. To arrange a call, simply fill out the short form below or email hello@bliss.org.uk.

Lindsey is at the neonatal unit all day by herself now – having someone who could talk to her just for half an hour would make such a difference.

How can it help?

Calls with our experienced volunteers can help you to feel less isolated, more confident, and help you to understand and be more involved in your baby’s neonatal care.

We know that at the moment many families are not able to all be together with their baby, and that there might be less support for many families with a baby at home.

During this particularly isolating time it can help to know you’re not alone. Our volunteers normally see more than 900 families on the neonatal unit each month and they are friendly, supportive people.

When you’re ready to talk, they are here for you.

How do I make a video call?

We use Zoom for video calls and we will send you a Zoom meeting link and password for a secure and confidential chat. You can join a meeting by clicking the link or by going to join.zoom.us and entering in the meeting ID and password.

If you need help accessing Zoom, there are lots of helpful video resources on Zoom.

Are you ready to book a video call?

Our volunteers are available throughout the week. To arrange a call, simply fill out the short form below or email hello@bliss.org.uk.
