Bliss and Emma's Diary raise awareness of neonatal care in new podcast

Posted on May 01, 2020

A new Emma's Diary podcast episode, produced in collaboration with Bliss, will help parents-to-be know what to expect if their baby is born premature or sick.

The Emma's Diary podcast series, Bump, Baby and Beyond, features mums sharing their journey through pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

In the episode, mum Danielle shares her story of IVF, having babies with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, and what has helped her mental health since bringing her boys, Ronnie and Teddy, home from the neonatal unit:

You don’t have to forget about the bad days but let the good days override the bad days. You’ll have ups and downs, but you just have to stay strong and keep everyone close.

Danielle

Many parents who contact Bliss for information and support say that their stay in neonatal care was unexpected and wish they'd felt more prepared for what would happen if their baby was born premature or sick.

By partnering with Emma’s Diary – which provides baby and pregnancy advice to expectant mums – Bliss hopes to help more parents-to-be to feel informed about neonatal care, and to know there is somewhere to turn for support should they need it.

The episode, ‘Having a premature or sick baby: what really happens’ is available from Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts.
