Following yesterday’s further announcement by Public Health England,  the total number of babies affected by the bacterial infection outbreak is now 22.

These cases of infection were caused through affected batches of intravenous liquid, through no fault of hospital staff. Babies in neonatal care are at greater risk of infection  and are extremely vulnerable, and the nurses and doctors caring for them do an amazing job.

If parents still have concerns we urge them to speak with the doctors and nurses caring for their baby or for further support they can contact Bliss on 0808 801 0322.
