Volunteer Support Officer

Are you looking to support families by delivering and managing high quality volunteer-led services in neonatal care? Bliss is looking for a Volunteer Support Officer to join our ambitious team

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Information and Support Team develops key support services for parents in caring and decision-making for their babies. Our team also sits alongside the Healthcare Engagement Team which focuses on developing Bliss’ priority services for health professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and support the Bliss volunteer network and get involved in the delivery of volunteer recruitment and management.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will raise the profile of Bliss and its volunteers through:

  • Managing recruitment, on-going support for volunteers
  • Development of policies, processes and sharing good practice on volunteer support and management
  • Building and strengthening relationships with volunteers, championing their role ensuring their voice is heard
  • Liaising with neonatal units, healthcare professionals and working groups to ensure volunteers are supported locally

You will have the knowledge and experience of working within the NHS, socially excluded groups and the UK voluntary sector. You will also have the experience of working with people who have had challenging experiences and demonstrate a sensitive and emphatic approach.
