Senior Volunteer Training Officer

Bliss is looking for an experienced Senior Volunteer Training Officer to join our Information and Support Team to ensure that our existing volunteer training programme is delivered to a high standard and meets the needs of our volunteers.

About the role

Our Information and Support Team provides information and emotional support for parents of babies born premature or sick, during what can be a very difficult time in their lives. This support is delivered through a number of channels, including multi-channel information content and volunteer-led support delivered face to face and by email and telephone. Bliss’ support volunteers - Bliss Champions and Bliss Helpline Volunteers - play a vital role at the heart of providing emotional support and information to parents of babies in neonatal care.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will be responsible for delivering our volunteer training programme to ensure that our volunteers are fully equipped to support parents who have a neonatal experience. Over the next 18 months we have a clear aim to increase the number of volunteers providing face-to-face support to parents on more neonatal units across the country, and this role is critical to this goal.

You will have a track record of developing and delivering high quality training - delivered both face-to-face and through digital channels. You will also have strong experience of leading and managing training and be passionate about supporting our volunteers to deliver person-centred support.
