Senior Research Engagement Officer

Are you keen on working in Health Research?
Would you like to impact outcomes of future generations of babies born premature and sick?

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will lead Bliss’ research programme, comprising both the management of Bliss’ new Research Grant Fund as well as taking a lead role in promoting and supporting parental involvement in neonatal research.

Bliss exists to ensure that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life. One of our four strategic objectives is to support research that can tangibly improve outcomes for babies born premature or sick, and this role is at the heart of delivering this objective.

This is an exciting time for research at Bliss, having recently launched our first funding call for research based on a newly-developed framework which outlines three core priorities for our future funded research. These priorities were identified following an extensive round of stakeholder engagement, and were decided by our independent Research Panel made up of healthcare professionals, parents and researchers.

You would be someone with the right skills and experience both to take on the management of our Research Grant Fund, and also to grow and support our programme of parental involvement in research, which involves recruiting and supporting parents to play an active role in contributing to neonatal research as well as directly representing babies’ and parents’ voices across the neonatal research sector.
