We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who emailed their local candidates to make care for premature and sick babies an election issue. Over 400 candidates have pledged their support for our three priorities. This places us in an excellent position to lobby the new MPs and ensure that care for premature and sick babies remains a priority in the UK.

We asked candidates to pledge their support for our three priorities for premature and sick babies and their families in our Bliss Baby Manifesto. By 2020 we want to see:

• One to one nursing for all babies in intensive care
• Access to round the clock specialist transport services in all areas
• Better support for the families of special care babies
