Parent Representatives in neonatal networks

support groupBeing a User Representative

Do you want to influence how neonatal care operates in your local area? Would you like to represent other parents and make your voice heard? As a user representative you can have a huge impact.

Neonatal units across England are grouped into regional networks. Decisions about a range of things are made at this level, from workforce to facilities, and the network boards are very influential.

Bliss feels that it is vitally important that parents' voices are heard when such important decisions are being taken, as you are the ones with the experience of the service. We are working with networks encouraging them to involve parents and helping them do so. Parents are now represented on a number of networks across the country and many more opportunities come up regularly.

Being a user representative is an incredibly exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the way neonatal care is run, and one not to be missed.

**The northern network are holding their neonatal taskforce launch day at Sedgefield Racecourse on 21st July 2010.  They would like parents to come along and possibly share their story.  If you would like to participate in this event please contact Zoe Chivers.
