Tax Return
Did you know that anyone who completes a Self Assessment tax return can nominate the charity of their choice to receive all or part of any repayment? This scheme is open to UK taxpayers only and has applied to tax returns from 5 April 2004.
All you need to do to donate some or all of your tax return to Bliss is include our unique identifier number on the tax return form in box 19A.3. Our unique ID number is KA88WG, and our official name is BLISS – the national charity for the newborn.
With your agreement the government will treat this refund as a Gift Aid donation, meaning that Bliss will get an extra 28p for every £1 donated. For Bliss to receive this extra money at no cost to you all you have to do is tick box 19A.4 on the tax return form.
What are the advantages?
The donation will be credited directly into Bliss’ bank account
• The tax return incorporates a Gift Aid declaration
• Gift Aid will be paid directly to Bliss without us having to make a claim
• Uniquely, it allows Bliss to receive Gift Aid on anonymous donations.
If you would like any further information about donating to Bliss via your self assessment tax return the please contact Julia Billington on juliab@bliss.org.uk or call the Inland Revenue Charity Helpline on 08453 02 02 03.
