Gift Aid
Have you made any donations to Bliss in the last six years? Did you know that you can make your money go further and help support the work of Bliss? In April 2000 the Government brought in new legislation regarding individual donations to charities, allowing us to claim the tax on any donations made by a UK taxpayer. This increases the value of your donation at no extra cost to you.
What is Gift Aid?
It is tax relief for financial gifts made to UK charities by UK residents. There is no upper limit to the amount you can give in each tax year. Gift Aid tax relief is intended for outright gifts, not for payments to buy goods and services for you or your family.
How does it work?
You make a donation to Bliss and give the charity a declaration so that it can claim tax back from the Inland Revenue. This means that for every £1 you give to Bliss, we can reclaim an extra 28p on your behalf.
What do I need to do?
Download a Gift Aid Declaration form on the right. In case of any difficulties with downloading the document, or if you are unable to print it out, contact Julia Billington on juliab@bliss.org.uk who will post you a copy.
Send your declaration through to Bliss at:
FREEPOST RRAR-CEHB-KRTA Bliss 9 Holyrood Street London SE1 2EL
You can also make an Oral Declaration but this will not be effective until we send you a copy of the declaration.
