Mothercare have chosen Bliss to be their Charity of the Year for 2017-18. Mothercare’s own colleagues nominated and voted for Bliss, moved by Bliss’ promise to champion the right for every baby born premature or sick to receive the best care.
Bliss already has a long standing relationship with Mothercare, by jointly working together with neonatal midwives and new parents to develop their premature baby clothing range (from 3lb) which is available in selected stores and online. The company also offer free home delivery on their premature clothing range for parents caught off-guard by the sudden arrival of their little one.
This new year-long partnership will see Mothercare donating funds to Bliss from the proceeds of sales in its staff shop along with other employee led fundraising activities such as a golf day and bake sales.
Bliss Chief Executive Caroline Lee-Davey says: “We’re delighted to have been chosen as the Mothercare Group Foundation Charity of the Year. Each year over 95,000 babies are born needing neonatal care, and the funds raised through our partnership with Mothercare will help us get closer to our goal of ensuring that every single one of them has the best chance of survival and quality of life. It is only through the generosity of supporters like Mothercare, and its employees, that we can support these poorly babies, and we are really looking forward to building this partnership over the coming year.”
Mark Newton Jones, Mothercare Chief Executive commented, ‘We are delighted to be in partnership with Bliss, a charity that plays such an important role in the lives of parents and babies, providing invaluable support to families at such an important time.”
