When Lucinda travelled to the US for what she thought would be a short business trip, little did she know what lay in store; while over in the states Lucinda went into Labour at just 25 weeks into her pregnancy.
Lucinda’s daughter Aurora was cared for in Colorado, after being born three months early, until she was stable enough to be transferred back to the UK a week later. Aurora was flown back from the US to London where she stayed in hospital for a further 15 weeks. This mother’s day will be the first that Lucinda will be able to spend at home with her daughter.
“Although we had some hard times I keep hold of the fond memories we had with our miracle little girl. When I went into labour my partner Charlie and I made a pact that we’d stay positive about the whole experience”
Reading information that Bliss provided helped Lucinda come to terms with what was happening in what was an incredibly unfamiliar and stressful time.
Help us make sure we can be there for all babies born too soon, too small, too sick.
