Bliss Volunteer – Application pack

Ryan and Luke

Thank you for offering to give your time to Bliss as a volunteer. So much of what we do to support premature and sick babies and their families is made possible by our volunteers, and the feedback we receive from parents and healthcare professionals tells us just what a difference that support makes.

You are joining a growing number of people across the UK who are part of Bliss Volunteers, our national programme aimed at increasing local support to families when they need it most. We have hundreds of volunteers working in neonatal units and communities across the UK and the number is growing all the time.

Our commitment to you is to make sure that you have everything you need in your role, that we provide you ongoing support and, most importantly, that you enjoy your volunteering. We have a team of staff dedicated to supporting you, so just let us know if there is anything you need.

Like you, I fit volunteering for Bliss around work and family commitments. At Bliss we are always conscious of how precious your time is and we make sure that our volunteer roles are flexible enough to fit around the time you have to give.

We are also keen to hear your thoughts and ideas about what we do, to help us continue to grow Bliss Volunteers and provide first class support to premature and sick babies and their families.

This application pack, below, should give you everything you need to apply for your volunteer role and one of our team will be in touch to talk you through the next steps.  If you would prefer a copy by post, please email

In the meantime take a look here for inspiring stories from other volunteers and families across the UK.

Yours sincerely,

Keith Soper
Chair of the Bliss Trustees
