Bliss Scotland exists to ensure that all babies born premature or sick in Scotland have the best possible chance of survival and quality of life. We are looking to recruit a talented Volunteer Support Officer to coordinate and develop our support services for families across Scotland.
Currently, around 5,800 babies are born in Scotland each year needing neonatal care, and the sad truth is that we are not able to reach all of them. We currently have a network of volunteers across a number of Scotland’s neonatal units, but we have huge ambition to have volunteers in every neonatal unit so that we can support every baby, and their family, at this difficult time.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will be responsible for coordinating the recruitment, ongoing support and monitoring of volunteers across the country, ensuring that our processes are robust, of high quality, and deliver the support our volunteers need.
This role will work as part of our UK-wide Information and Support Team (based in London), which provides emotional support and comprehensive information for parents and families of babies born premature or sick.
- Have a track record of working with volunteers
- Have good organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Be a self-starter
- Be able to manage and prioritise your own workload as well as proactively build strong relationships with volunteers, health professionals, and colleagues both in Scotland and across the UK.
- Have experience of working within data protection and safeguarding policies
- Be willing to travel throughout Scotland
