A very personal message from Duncan, our Head of Fundraising
On 7 December my daughter Maya turned four years old, a birthday myself and my wife Jane thought may never come when she was born prematurely at 27 weeks.
On that day, from out of nowhere, Jane and I were told we could be parents within an hour, and that our baby that we had waited for, planned for, longed for, might not survive the birth.
Now, as we approach Christmas, the memory of Maya’s hospital journey is still difficult for me and my heart goes out to all those families spending Christmas at a hospital neonatal unit, like I did. It is for them that I must ask you please to give a gift to Bliss this Christmas.
Can you help vulnerable babies like Maya this Christmas?
Bliss knows how to help vulnerable babies and sadly, as our recently published report shows, more babies are born needing specialist hospital care while neonatal units are stretched to the maximum. We need your help more than ever. Without you we simply cannot bring about the much-needed improvements in care for all of the babies who need us.
We've reached Christmas appeal target of £10,000 and but please help us smash it! Whatever you can spare, your gift will make a real difference to premature and sick babies and their families.
£10 Could help us tackle inequalities in care, making sure every baby born has the best possible chance of survival.
£20 Could help us reach parents earlier in hospital, with volunteers providing emotional and practical support when they don’t know where to turn.
£40 Could support cutting edge research projects helping to save more little lives for many years to come.
Thank you for always being there for the little ones who are counting on your support.
This Christmas help Bliss to make sure every baby born premature or sick has the best chance of survival by donating now
