Supermum and fundraiser Marie Bailey recently held her sixth annual fundraising ball for Bliss, taking her total amount raised to an incredible £50,000.
The Hollywood themed event, known as Lily’s ball, took place on Saturday 4 October in Sutton Coldfield and catered to around 300 guests with dinner, dancing, a casino and a raffle. The night raised £11,620, and when added to the amount she has raised from previous years, the total comes to over £50,000.
Marie gave birth to her daughter Lily three months early in 2006. She is now a happy and healthy eight year old and Marie has held the event for the past six years in her honour.
“When Lily was born, Bliss helped me and my husband Richard so much. Their support was amazing and helped us to stay positive during the nine weeks Lily had to stay in hospital. That’s why I raise money for them, so they can help other families in similar situations.”
Bliss’ Events Officer Frances Llewellyn says: “The dedication Marie has shown by organising Lily’s Ball for six years in a row has amazed everyone at Bliss. She has raised an amazing amount of money and we are hugely grateful to her.”
