We’re proud to be working with Miffy on this year’s Bake for Bliss. To mark her 60th birthday we held a competition to find the baker who could design our favourite Miffy cake and to see who could auction theirs off for the most money.
Our two fantastic winners will each receive a Miffy lamp, worth £109.99 each, which were kindly donated to us.
The winner of the best designed Miffy cake is the aptly named Vickie Baker, and her friend Grace Morgan. We had so many entries that we had a job picking the winner, but after a staff vote we made our decision. It took Vickie and Grace 7 hours to make the winning creation, comprised of 6 sponge cakes – these included a Nutella cake for the head, lemon sponge for the ears and the body, and dark chocolate chip for the banner and balloons, yum! Well done to both of them.
Our second winner is Sarah Cole who raised the most money from auctioning the brilliant Miffy cake her sister in law, Jacqui Cole, baked. It sold for an amazing £200 and Sarah’s bake sale raised £300 in total, so a big thanks to Sarah and Jacqui.
Well done to everyone who took part in Bake for Bliss to raise money for special care babies this year. If you didn’t get a chance to take part yet you can still hold a bake sale, just go to www.bliss.org.uk/bake and register to get your Bake for Bliss fundraising pack.
