23 year old Ryan Knowles hosted a Hollywood-themed gala evening back in September, raising over £3,000 to be shared between Bliss and three other charities.
An eight piece soul band provided live music on the night and Ryan kept the dance floor going with his DJing, playing a host of club classics. The event also featured a raffle, an auction and party games.
Bliss is particularly close to Ryan and his parent’s hearts since he was born 27 weeks early weighing just 2lb 70z. He spent nine weeks in Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital premature baby unit, but is now a civil servant and part-time DJ.
Ryan’s father John Knowles who helped to organise the event along with friend Kevin Bates said “I’m so proud that Ryan is able to give a little bit back for the support Bliss provided. This was our third fundraiser in 12 months and as always the emphasis was on fun alongside the fundraising. The night was such a success we are looking to hold an even bigger gala next year.
The money donated will go towards Ryan’s Sunshine Fund. A Sunshine Fund is a way to celebrate a child’s life and acknowledge the support you may have received while they were in hospital. To find out more, please click here or contact Irene on 020 7378 5740 or firstname.lastname@example.org
