Bliss looks back on 2013

10 April 2014

Today Bliss is releasing a new video, which highlights our achievements throughout 2013.

The video shows the impact Bliss is making to families like Andrew and Claire whose daughter Emmeline was born three months early. She is now a healthy happy one year old. One way Bliss is helping families is through Bliss Nurses who support families of premature and sick babies while they are in hospital, helping them through what can be a very traumatic time. This year Bliss Nurses have helped thousands of families on neonatal units across the UK.

This year the number of volunteers Bliss has tripled. Because of our volunteer’s extraordinary generosity of time over 2,600 families were directly supported by Bliss volunteers in 2013. This support has come in many forms, holding support groups where parents can go along and talk to others who have been through a similar experience, going directly into hospitals and being a listening ear for families.

We want to make sure that all babies and their families receive the best support and care when and wherever they need it.
