Mother's Day Appeal
Help Bliss reach out to Mums of tiny and sick babies this Mother's Day
Mother’s Day is a time for celebration, but for mums of premature and sick babies in neonatal care, we know it can be a stressful time full of anxiety and worry.
Bliss is here to provide help and support to worried new mums as they care for their tiny or poorly babies in hospital. We know that supporting mothers through this difficult time significantly increases their baby’s chances of a healthy future. Please help us in this important work by giving to our Mother’s Day appeal.
This year, Bliss volunteers will be supporting mums who are spending an anxious Mother’s Day in hospital neonatal units across the UK. Some of those mums will be too worried about their baby to even acknowledge Mother’s Day. We believe these mums, more than any, need to feel appreciated. Can you help Bliss reach as many new mums as possible, by donating to our appeal?
Last year, Bliss volunteer Catherine Miles organised for 285 knitted hearts to be given with Mother’s Day gift packages to new mums in every hospital in the South West, and will be doing the same again this year. One mum said:
"Thank you for my mother's day heart! It brought a tear to my eye. My teeny tiny son is in St Michael's NICU and is doing really well! "

By giving to Bliss you will help our volunteers to give mums a special and memorable day. Your gift will help more volunteers like Catherine reach out to new mums and babies in need of support this Mother’s Day.
£5 can enable a new mum to be supported to hold her premature or poorly baby for the first time
£10 will cover the cost of a gift, such as a box of chocolates, for mums spending the day in hospital
£30 means the families of the 250 babies born needing neonatal care on Mother’s Day this year have someone to turn to for help through our helpline
£100 provides training for a Bliss volunteer whose role is to help parents to be fully involved with their baby’s care while in hospital
Whatever you can spare, your gift will enable us to support mums and will make a real difference to mums and their babies this Mother’s Day.
